Installation heights and angle

The indicated heights are general guidelines.
For grower pigs, we recommend using two installation heights or height adjusters to adapt the drinker's position to the animals' growth.
The FDA-000002 drinker can be installed at an angle between 15° and 45°:
- 15° → use the lowest height
- 45° → use the highest height
This adjustment ensures correct animal posture and reduces water waste.
Recommended water pressure
Maximum water pressure must not exceed 4 bar (55 psi) to ensure correct system operation.
For piglets and weaned piglets, pressure should not exceed 2 bar (28 psi).
Lower pressures promote:
- water savings
- longer life for seals and spring
- flow regularity
- ease of use
- waste reduction
👉 We recommend using a pressure reducer if the water line has high or unstable values.
Water flow rate
👉 (CLICK HERE) for the flow rate table
Actual flow rate varies based on the pressure available along the barn.
For grower pigs, a flow rate between 0.8 and 1.4 L/min is recommended to ensure adequate water supply throughout the growth phase.
This image shows the constant flow rate graph of an FDA adjustable valve, which delivers 1.4 liters per minute regardless of pressure.
The graph highlights the three valve adjustment levels:
-
Level 1 (7–9 bar): green zone, used when system pressure is high.
-
Level 2 (3–6 bar): blue zone, suitable for medium-pressure systems.
-
Level 3 (0–3 bar): gray zone, ideal for low-pressure drinking lines.
The graph helps to quickly understand which level to set on the valve cap to obtain a stable and correct flow rate based on the available system pressure. The flow rate remains stable at 1.4 L/min, ensuring a constant and reliable flow.
The use of pressure reducers allows for centralized system management, particularly useful in summer months when it may be necessary to increase the flow rate.
