1/2" Automatic Nipple Drinker for Anti-Waste Feed/Drink Troughs – Model FDA-000005
Product description
Nipple drinker for anti-waste troughs FDA-000005 with 1/2" threaded fitting for "feed and drink" feeders for swine, designed for combined feeding systems in livestock operations.
The brass body and thread ensure high corrosion resistance, long-term reliability, and proper hydraulic seal.
The 25 mm hex allows stable and secure installation on the feeder.
The Ø 24 mm activation knob, made of stainless steel, is specifically designed to be activated by the pig during natural head movement in the feeder. The knob movement triggers a light and controlled water flow, which moistens the feed improving palatability and encouraging feed intake.

Installation heights and angle

The heights indicated are general guidelines.
We recommend using three installation heights or height adjusters, to adapt the position of the drinker or feeder to the animal's growth stage.
The FDA-000005 drinker can be installed at an angle between 15° and 45°:
- 15° → use the lower height
- 45° → use the higher height
This adjustment ensures correct animal posture and reduces water waste.
Recommended water pressure
The maximum water pressure must not exceed 4 bar (55 psi) to ensure correct system operation.
For piglets and weaned piglets, the pressure should not exceed 2 bar (28 psi).
Lower pressures promote:
- water savings
- longer life for seals and spring
- flow regularity
- ease of use
- waste reduction
👉 The use of a pressure reducer is recommended if the water line has high or unstable values.
Water flow rate
👉 (CLICK HERE) for the flow rate table
Actual flow rate varies based on available pressure along the barn.
For optimal system performance, a water flow rate between 0.6 and 1 liter/minute is recommended, to achieve proper feed moistening while reducing water waste and keeping the feeding area cleaner.
Optional valves with the following diameters are available to increase flow rate:
- Ø 3 mm
- Ø 3.5 mm
- Ø 4 mm
The use of pressure reducers allows for centralized system management, particularly useful in summer months when it may be necessary to increase the flow rate.
