1/2" automatic nipple drinker for stainless steel anti-waste bowls – Model FDA-000006TP

Product description

The FDA-000006TP automatic nipple drinker with 1/2" threaded connection is designed to be installed directly on stainless steel anti-waste bowls for swine (For bowl category SEE HERE)

The stainless steel body and thread ensure high corrosion resistance, long service life, and reliability over time.
The 21 mm hexagon allows stable and secure mounting on the bowl.

The Ø 8 mm stainless steel activation pin is operated directly by the pig during drinking, ensuring controlled delivery and limiting water waste.

The adjustable valve allows precise flow rate adjustment according to animal requirements and system characteristics, optimizing system efficiency.

Ideal for watering systems in swine farming.

Installation heights and angle

The heights indicated are general guidelines.
We recommend using three installation heights or height adjusters, to adapt the position of the drinker or feeder to the animal's growth stage.

The FDA-000006TP drinker can be installed at an angle between 15° and 45°:

  • 15° → use the lower height
  • 45° → use the higher height

This adjustment ensures correct animal posture and reduces water waste.

Recommended water pressure

The maximum water pressure must not exceed 4 bar (55 psi) to ensure correct system operation.

For piglets and weaned piglets, the pressure should not exceed 2 bar (28 psi).

Lower pressures promote:

  • water savings
  • longer life for seals and spring
  • flow regularity
  • ease of use
  • waste reduction

👉 The use of a pressure reducer is recommended if the water line has high or unstable values.

Water flow rate

👉 (CLICK HERE) for the flow rate table

The flow rate of the 1/2" automatic nipple drinker for swine varies according to the pressure in the water line.

For optimal system operation, a flow rate between 0.6 and 1 L/min is recommended to achieve correct feed moistening, reducing water waste and keeping the feeding area cleaner.

In the version with adjustable filter (model FDA-000006TP), the flow rate can be adjusted via the valve cap, which allows the flow to be adapted to the available pressure in the system.

The graph highlights three valve adjustment levels:

  • Level 1 (4–9 bar) – green zone
used when system pressure is high.

  • Level 2 (2–4 bar) – blue zone
suitable for systems with medium pressure.

  • Level 3 (0–2 bar) – gray zone
ideal for watering lines with low pressure.

The graph allows you to quickly identify which level to set on the valve cap to obtain a stable flow rate for the nipple drinker for wet/dry feeders based on the pressure available in the system.

With correct adjustment, the flow rate remains around 1.0 L/min, ensuring a constant and reliable flow.
