Installation heights and angle

The indicated heights are general guidelines.
For piglets, it is essential to position the drinker correctly to facilitate use from the earliest stages of growth.
The FDA-000022TP drinker can be installed at an angle between 15° and 45°:
-
15° → lower and more accessible position
-
45° → higher position
Correct adjustment promotes learning and reduces water waste.
Recommended water pressure
For piglets, a pressure not exceeding 2 bar (28 psi) is recommended to ensure ease of activation.
The maximum system pressure must not exceed 4 bar (55 psi).
Lower pressures promote:
-
ease of use for piglets
-
water savings
-
longer life for seals and spring
-
flow regularity
-
waste reduction
👉 The use of a pressure reducer is recommended to maintain constant values.
Water flow rate
👉 (CLICK HERE) for the flow rate table
The flow rate of the 1/2" automatic nipple drinker varies based on the pressure in the water line.
For optimal system operation, a flow rate between 0.6 and 1.0 L/min is recommended to ensure correct hydration of the piglets while reducing water waste and keeping the rearing area cleaner.
In the version with an adjustable valve (model FDA-000022TP), the flow rate can be set via the valve cap, allowing the flow to be adapted to the available system pressure.
Three adjustment levels are highlighted in the graph:
-
Level 1 (4–9 bar) – green zone
for high-pressure systems -
Level 2 (2–4 bar) – blue zone
for intermediate pressures -
Level 3 (0–2 bar) – grey zone
for low-pressure lines
The graph allows you to quickly identify the correct level to set on the cap to obtain a stable flow rate based on the available pressure.
With correct adjustment, the flow rate remains around 1.0 L/min, ensuring a constant, reliable flow suitable for different farming conditions.
Water contamination
Contamination of water or pipes is one of the main causes of drinker malfunction.
Impurities and sediments can compromise the correct operation of the valve and internal components.
👉 The installation of a filter on the water system is recommended to ensure reliability, durability, and constant performance.
